    HFT is just …
HFT is just computers front running. I.E. If you wanted to buy XYZ stock at the current price of 5.50 and enough shares exist at that price. An HFT machine sees the order before it’s filled, buys 5.50, sells it to you at 5.60, profiting 0.10.

I just think you are using HFT as an excuse for market movement that you don’t understand. HFT only applies to derivatives and not the underlying instruments. They impact SOME move magnitudes but not direction or lack there of.

    Hey, what kind of …
Hey, what kind of percentage annualized return would be considered good for a professional trader?

    APWR had a huge …
APWR had a huge share offering that caused that big drop. Good stock to keep an eye on.

    I typically want …
I typically want volatility but like for it to be accompanied by volume (real buyers and sellers) and less HFT. Apathy (no real buyers or sellers and the market is just kicked around by the algorithms) in the marketplace can be a day trading killer.

    Andy, do you think …
Andy, do you think that more volitilty (like it is now) is more difficult than no volitility like it was a couple of months ago? I remember a video you did describing how the no volitility was difficult.

    You are correct. …
You are correct. HFT is taking over micro trading timr frames.

  7. sgomez858 Said:

    I agree, all that …
I agree, all that free money was plugged into HFT prop trading. I have no doubt about this. They were both the big story of 2009 and were no coincidence.

    Unless you are …
Unless you are doing day trades and looking at minute to minute moves, HFT doesn’t really matter. Buying and holding for a few days/weeks, technical analysis still rules.

    this pattern should …
this pattern should break down… i would bet against it

  10. jokepie Said:

    . these bots cause …
. these bots cause alot of mess in the market, many of these companies lost money coz they cannot program human emotion in a code !!! when the market crashes, they start taking opposite positions but the market keeps going…crushing them and causing them to dissolve the position pushing market further in ditch or hights.

  11. jokepie Said:

    You r partially …
You r partially right Kosai19..The rise is fueled by the free money the banks are getting.
The intraday behaviour is because of Algorithms

  12. kosai19 Said:

    It’s clear to me …
It’s clear to me this isn’t HFT. The banks getting to borrow trillions of dollars with no risk lets them gamble this money for free. In fact you can research something similar that happened with Chinese businesses and how their markets rose by 30%+ soon after.
